I was designing a new product and realised I needed someone with experience in 3D modelling so my
design could be taken from and idea to a finished product.

Through contacts at SolidWorks I was introduced to Mr. Duncan Gillis of Gilson Design Pty Ltd.

Duncan Gillis of Gilson Design Pty Ltd and I (an experienced Mechanical Engineer) worked on a project together for about 12 months.

Duncan constructed a 3D CAD model of a design embodying an invention I had conceived – in doing so he demonstrated a thorough understand of geometry. He judiciously chose references that reflected the inter-dependence of components and also which facilitated later changes. Lesser designers often fail to do this and small changes can cause their models to fall apart.

Duncan works at a furious pace enabling one’s ideas to find a concrete form almost as one conceives them and his work is accurate.

Duncan quickly comprehended our design objective and participated in problem solving – he was able to make many constructive suggestions resulting in improvements.

Duncan’s previous experience enabled him to offer advice on practical matters such as fasteners, materials and he also able to propose potential suppliers.
